DÍA 5: ENCUENTRO CON FAMILIAS ANFITRIONES

DÍA 5: EL MUSEO DE LA REINA SOFIA & HASTA PRONTO MADRID

Hoy yo me desperté a las 8h30 de la mañana. Pude dormir más tiempo.  Me gustan los días cuando yo puedo dormir más y me despierto más tarde.  Yo comí el desayuno con Stephanie.  Anoche yo necesite hacer mi maleta.  Fue un poco difícil porque tengo ropa y otras cosas pero solo tengo una maleta muy pequeña. Primero nosotros fuimos al museo de la Reina Sofía en el metro.  Yo y Pierce necesitamos dirigir al grupo y fue difícil porque no hay una estación se llama Reina Sofía. Pero nosotros preguntamos a una persona y aprendimos que el museo está en Atocha. 

Today I woke up at 8:30am.  I was able to sleep longer. I like days that I can sleep longer and I wake up later. I ate breakfast with Stephanie. Last night I had to make my suitcase. It was a little difficult because I have clothes and other things to pack and a small suitcase.  First we went to the museum Reina Sofia in the metro.  Pierce and I had to lead the group and it was difficult because there is no station named Reina Sofia. We asked a person and found out that the museum was located near the Atocha stop.

En el museo, nosotros vimos el cuadro de Picasso que se llama Guernica.  Antes de nosotros irnos, Maestra nos explicó la historia de España y Picasso.  España tuvo una Guerra Civil durante la década entre 30 los Republicanos y Franquistas.  El gobierno Republicano de comisionaron a Pablo Picasso a pintar un cuadro par la Feria Mundial de 1937. En Guernica Picasso quería que las personas pudiesen/pudieran ver con este cuadro el precio humano de la Guerra Civil. Picasso uso cubismo para representar como los cuerpos de la población civil quedaron fragmentados y mal formados. Guernica muestra una realidad muy horrible. 

In the museum, we saw the Picasso’s masterpiece called Guernica. Before going, Maestra provided us with a historical explanation of Spain and Picasso. Spain had a Civil War during the 30’s between the Republicans and Franquistas.  The Republicans government commissioned Pablo Picasso to paint a painting for the 1937 World Fair.  In Guernica Picasso wanted people to be able to see with this painting the human Price of the Civil War.  Picasso used cubism to represent the civilians whose bodies were fragmented and malformed. Guernica demonstrates a horrible reality.

Después de ver Guernica, Maestra nos dio tiempo libre para ver cuadro en el museo.  Yo y mis amigos fuimos a ver las cuadros de Dalí, pero no eran los cuadros que yo ya conocía.  También fuimos a otras exhibiciones y finalmente fuimos a la terraza con vistas panorámicas.  Allí había una escultura de animales y sacamos muchas fotos.

After seeing Guernica, Maestra gave us free time to visit the rest of the museum.  My friends and I went to see paintings by Dali, but they weren’t the ones I already knew.  We also went to other exhibits and finally we went to the roof top terraces with panoramic views.  

Después nosotros fuimos al mismo restaurante donde comimos el primer día.  Yo comí pasta y nosotros quisimos comer chocolatísimo por última vez pero tarde mucho tiempo y nosotros necesitamos comérnoslo muy rápidamente.

Then we went to the restaurant we ate on our first date.  I ordered pasta and we wanted chocolatisimo for the last time but it took a while and we had to eat it quickly.

Después nosotros regresamos al hotel por última vez y le dijimos Adios a la Sra. Brennan Ella fue muy buena. Después nosotros tomamos el metro al aeropuerto.  Yo estaba muy emocionada para conocer a mi familia anfitriona. Yo me quede dormida en el avión y cuando llegamos a Vigo, yo estaba muy nerviosa para conocer a mi familia anfitriona, pero ellos son muy buenos. 

Then we returned to the hotel for the last time and said Goodbye to Mrs. Brennan.  She was very good. Then we took the metro to the airport.  I was very excited to meet my host family. I feel asleep on the plane and we arrived in Vigo, I was very nervous in order to meet my host family, but they are very good.

Me encanta Carlota y sus padres.  Ella siempre esta con su mejor amiga Clara.  Ella también ira a los EEUU como parte del intercambio.  Nosotros llegamos a su casa y después fuimos a comer pizza donde yo conocí muchas personas de España. La pizza estaba muy rica y creo que el jamón york es similar la pizza con pepperoni. Después nosotros nos fuimos a la playa y David llego con un balón y todos los chicos jugaron al fútbol. Después nosotros regresamos a casa y Clara y Carlota me ayudaron a deshacer mi maleta. Ellas son muy simpáticas y graciosas.  Me encanta mi familia anfitriona y fue un buen día.

Carlota and her parents are great.  She is always with her best friend Clara.  She will also go to the USA as part of the immersion group. We arrived at her house and then we went to eat pizza at a place where I met a lot of Spaniards. The pizza was delicious and I think jamon york is similar to peperoni. Then we went to the beach and David arrived with a soccer ball so the guys played a game.  Later on we returned home and Clara and Carlota helped me unpack my bags. They are very sweet and funny. I adore my host family and it was a great day.
