Me desperté a las 8h00 para comer el desayuno a las 8h20. Yo comí frutas, jamón serrano, huevos y bebí
chocolate. Estaba todo muy sabroso. Después caminamos al Palacio Real. Primero paramos en la Plaza de España para
ver una estatua de la Reina Isabel la Católica.
I woke up at 8:00am in order to have breakfast at 8:20am. I ate fruit, jamón serrano, eggs, and crank
hot chocolate. Everything was
delicious. Afterwards we walked to the Palacio
Real. First we stopped at the Plaza de España to see a statue of the Queen
Isabel.
Luego continuamos al Palacio Real a pie.
Sacamos muchas fotos del Palacio.
Vimos que el Palacio esta encima de una colina. Luego fuimos al cuarto
de la armadura. Allí vimos muchos símbolos
y los colores asociados con los reyes y reinas de España. Por ejemplo, los tres colores: rojo para la
sangre, amarillo para el oro y sol y azul para lo divino. En cada armadura, hay escudos. El escudo de Fernando e Isabela los Reyes Católicos
tienen leones y castillos. El escudo del
Emperador Carlos I/Carlos V tiene una águila negro con doble cabeza. Los escudos de los Borbones tienen la flor de
lis porque son de Francia. Además, los tapices
tienen imágenes de las batallas de Guerra, cuentos bíblicos, o mitológicos. La monarquía
usaba los tapices para decorar sus palacios y para mantener el calor en las
diferentes salas. Cuando visitamos el cuarto de armadura para los niños, era
muy interesante que los niños necesitaban aprender a pelear.
Then we continued to the Palacio Real on foot. We took lots of photos of
the Palacio. We realized that the Palacio
is located on a hill. Then we went to the Armory. There we saw many symbols and colors related
to the queens and kings of Spain. For example, the three colors red for blood, yellow
for gold and sun, and blue for divine. Each armour had a coat of arms. The coat
of arms of the Catholic kings Fernando and Isabel had lions and castles. The coat
of arms of the Holly Roman Emperor Carlos I/Carlos V was a double headed black eagle.
The coat of arms of the Bourbons had the fleur de lis because they are from
France. In addition, the tapestry has images of battles, biblical and mythical
stories. The monarchy used the tapestry to decorate their palaces and keep the rooms
warmer. When we visited the children’s Armory exhibit it was interesting to
learn that the children on the monarchy had to learn to fight.
Al medio día tuvimos un tour del Palacio Real. Aunque me dolían los pies de
caminar mucho vi cosas muy interesantes.
Por ejemplo, el cuarto de porcelana era muy interesante porque todas los
trozos de porcelana que están en las paredes tienen tornillos para no caerse
pero no podíamos verlos.. También me
gustan los relojes en el Palacio porque cada uno es diferente. Al terminar la
visita fuimos a comer el almuerzo y nos perdimos por unos minutos porque
tomamos el metro equivocado.
For lunch we ate
in a café-restaurant where I had a vegetable risotto. Because I was hungry I
ate everything on my plate. For dessert, many students had a chocolate mousse.
Luego fuimos al Museo del Prado.
Maestra McNeilly-Anta dirigió el tour del Museo del Prado. Vimos muchos
cuadros donde la gente no tenía ropa –estaban desnudas. Un pintor que se llama
Goya tiene muchos cuadros bonitos. Otro pintor que se llama Velázquez se pintó asimismo
dentro del cuadro pintando el cuadro. Velázquez es famoso porque en su cuadro las
Meninas cuestiona la estructura social y quien tiene poder.
Afterwards we
went to the Museo del Prado. Maestra McNeilly-Anta lead the tour in the Museo
del Prado. We so many paintings of unclothed people –they were naked. A painter
named Goya created a lot of beautiful paintings. Another painter named Velazquez who is famous
for the paining las Meninas that questions the social power structure.
A las 19h00 fuimos al Parque del Buen Retiro y fuimos al estanque a montar
en las barcas. Fue muy divertido porque
mi barca tenia Summer, Kianni, y Magnolia.
At 7:00pm we went
to the Parque del Buen Retiro and we went to the lake to ride on the row boats.
It was a blast because Summer, Kianni, and Magnolia were in my boat.
Por último fuimos al Palacio de Comunicaciones que está al lado de la
Fuente Cibeles antes de cenar en un restaurant italiano donde compartimos pasta
y pizza. Todo estaba muy delicioso. Finalmente nos fuimos al hotel y ahora voy a
acostarme.
Next we went to the Palacio de
Comunicaciones that is located in front of the Fuente de Cibeles before heading
to an Italian restaurant for dinner were we decided to share many pastas and
pizzas. Everything was delicious. Finally, we headed back to back to our hotel
now I’m going to sleep.
